Doctors Don't Think They Are The Problem

Amid concerns over antibiotic resistance, a survey reported by PharmaLittle found that 94% of doctors surveyed acknowledged that antibiotic resistance is a problem, that there is overuse of these powerful drugs that can lead to them not being effective. And 91% believed inappropriate prescribing most often occurs in physicians offices. But at the same time, a large percentage of those doctors did not believe their own practices were to blame, a lack of recognition that contributes to a worsening public health crisis. Specifically, 55% of all doctors in the study didn’t think this was a problem in their own practices.
